Kalatua
Our Story
A love letter to the sea, the table, and Sint Maarten.
Kalatua was born from a simple dream: to create a place where great food and the Caribbean sea share the same breath. Nestled on the iconic sands of Mullet Bay, we've built something that feels both effortless and exceptional.
The name Kalatua is a blend of cultures — a nod to the beauty of this island and the warmth of the people who call it home. Our cuisine draws from the rich traditions of the Mediterranean, reinterpreted through the lens of the Caribbean: fresh local catches, sun-ripened produce, bold spices.
We believe that the best meals are the ones shared. That's why every dish on our menu is designed to be passed around the table, tasted by all, and talked about long after the plates are cleared.
Gil Dumoulin
Chef Gil brings decades of culinary passion to Kalatua's kitchen. Trained in the Mediterranean tradition, he has spent years refining a style that is at once elevated and deeply convivial. At Kalatua, he curates a menu that changes with the seasons and the sea — always fresh, always gourmet, always something to share.
